Dr. Megan Mercurio, PsyD, LMFT, is a doctoral-level clinician with more than 15 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate emotional challenges, relationship difficulties, trauma, and unhealthy behavioral patterns. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Holy Family University and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. While Dr. Mercurio is not yet licensed as a psychologist, her advanced doctoral training reflects the depth, sophistication, and clinical insight she brings to her work.
Dr. Mercurio is known for providing thoughtful, highly personalized care that balances warmth, connection, and practical change. Her therapeutic style is collaborative and emotionally attuned, creating a space where clients feel genuinely understood while also supported in making meaningful progress in their lives and relationships.
She specializes in working with trauma, relationship dynamics, and emotionally driven behavioral patterns that can leave clients feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or exhausted.
Dr. Mercurio has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment approach designed to help individuals process traumatic experiences, anxiety, distressing memories, and deeply rooted negative beliefs. She integrates EMDR with trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic principles, mindfulness, and systemic therapy to create highly individualized treatment experiences.
In addition to trauma work, Dr. Mercurio specializes in couples therapy, helping partners navigate communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, intimacy concerns, breaches of trust, parenting stress, and major life transitions. She also works extensively with professionals, healthcare providers, executives, and high-achieving individuals who may appear successful outwardly while privately struggling with burnout, perfectionism, stress, anxiety, relationship strain, or unhealthy coping patterns.
Dr. Mercurio has particular experience supporting women and men navigating compulsive or self-defeating cycles, emotional overwhelm, attachment wounds, and longstanding relational difficulties. Her approach focuses not only on symptom relief, but on helping clients build greater resilience, self-awareness, emotional balance, and healthier connections with themselves and others.
Her professional background includes work in specialty treatment settings focused on trauma, eating disorders, relationship concerns, and compulsive behaviors, as well as experience serving as a clinical supervisor within an intensive outpatient setting. These experiences have strengthened her ability to work with complex emotional and relational concerns in a compassionate, grounded, and results-oriented way.
Dr. Mercurio offers both in-person and virtual therapy services for adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Clients are often drawn to her approachable yet deeply insightful style, as well as her ability to combine emotional depth with practical, lasting change.
