Reaching out for help is never easy. When we do find the courage to talk about our problems, it has to be with someone we can connect with, someone we can believe in, and someone we can trust. It would be my honor to be that someone for you.
I feel my strengths include my non-judgmental approach, my ability to create a calm and nurturing environment, and my high comfort level with difficult topics. I truly believe that while it may be hard to take that first step and start counseling, it is the healthy and courageous side of you coming out. I feel that living in the past can cause depression while living in the future can increase anxiety. My goal is to help you live more in the present so you can fully enjoy each day. I want to help you explore your strengths so that together we can work towards goals that, in turn, will help you to break down the barriers that are holding you back in order to live your healthiest life.
I am a Nationally Board Certified Counselor (NBCC) who graduated from Rider University, where I received a Master of Arts (MA) Degree in Counseling . I have worked in the mental health field for over 16 years and have expertise working in psychiatric centers where I have helped clients of all ages struggling with anxiety/panic attacks, depression, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, and substance use related concerns. I have also worked college settings where I specialized in helping students dealing with eating disorders/body image issues, time management, relationship struggles and life adjustments. I work from a mostly client-centered and cognitive behavioral approach, but I always tailor my therapeutic approach to what suits the client best. Having been a gymnast for over 20 years I also enjoy working with athletes to help them navigate the high pressure world of competitive sports.
