Megan Mercurio is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 15 years of experience helping clients move through emotional struggles, relationship conflict, and unhealthy behavioral patterns. She holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University, is a Certified Compulsive Use Counselor (CADC), and is in the final stages of completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology—further enhancing her depth of clinical expertise.
Megan specializes in relationship dynamics, working with individuals, couples, and families to identify and shift patterns that fuel distress and disconnection. Using a systemic, integrative approach, she helps clients move beyond cycles that no longer serve them—building healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. With a warm, collaborative style, she empowers clients to make meaningful, lasting changes aligned with their values and goals.
Areas of Expertise
Megan works extensively with couples facing communication breakdowns, breaches of trust, intimacy challenges, parenting struggles, and major life transitions. She brings equal depth to individual work, helping clients explore attachment wounds, identity concerns, and struggles with self-worth.
Trained in trauma-informed care, Megan is also a specialist in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a proven method for resolving trauma, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs. She integrates this with evidence-based practices to help clients reduce distress, disrupt unhealthy cycles, and foster resilience.
Professional Experience
Megan’s career has spanned specialty treatment centers for eating disorders, facilities addressing compulsive behaviors, and private practice. She also served as a clinical supervisor at an intensive outpatient center focused on complex behavioral concerns. Her therapeutic approach draws from systemic therapy, CBT, DBT, psychodynamic principles, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care—allowing her to create highly individualized treatment experiences.
Megan is especially sought after by clients who want therapy to be both compassionate and results-oriented—an experience that goes beyond symptom relief and creates lasting transformation in emotional health and relationships.
